The World Global Change Conference held a few month ago, shows us an indication that the destruction of the earth as well as the environment is getting worseand worse. Nature and Environment have been issues of public concern since a few years ago. The earth, the place we stay and live today, tomorrow and forever has to be preserved for next generation. Preserving nature is preserving the heritage both for renewable resources and non renewable resources. The strict campaign of saving nature and preserving heritage on the other side brings the negative impact to the acceleration and the growth of economy because it can stop the industry activity and finally goes to employee termination. It is a dilemma. An attempt to stop illegal logging has been declared seriously by the government; on the other side it makes the timber industry stop their activities to produce the pulp and then papers. Paper has become the most strategic commodity used by everyone in this world. Paper has very important role in teaching and learning process both for students and lecturers. The consumption of papers in our daily life makes us not realize that we consume more than what we need. We use and consume paper for unnecessary points and activities, such as wrapping, typing the concept and then throwing it in to the rubbish bin, asking the students to write short answers in spacious paper. It makes high paper consumption and increase the organization expenses. The high consumption of papers make the director of State Polytechnic of Jakarta sends a circular letter to all community involved in organization  to be aware of the bad habit we have in consuming paper in campus. There are so many actions we can do in order to save the environment, such as less paper consumption, writing on both sides for internal correspondence, to using smaller letter size before printing the last concept, and finally ask the student sometimes to submit the assignment by e mail as media correspondence between lecturer and students. The use of electronic mail is paperless and to write the paper on both sides can make less paper consumption. In a country as densely populated as Jakarta, we have to protect the area of special nature by conserving the trees as the centre of preserving green condition and keep the fertile land. State Polytechnic community have to extend the green tree area and the city forest surround us. We have to be consistent to keep to the rule against the fast rate of illegal logging and destruction of environment. We trust that our water and soil pollution have decreased and noise, nuisance and emission of greenhouse of gases have established, groundwater depletion can be reserved for ages; The instruction given by director State Polytechnic is a part of building the awareness of all community to take care of the environment, to save the earth by consuming less paper  today, tomorrow and forever.
