Active environmental protection is very important for survival. An increased number of natural disaster heightened pubic awareness of the fact that only that sustainable way of living and sustainable economy have a future, with this in mind, the protection of natural resources is essential for life. It is underlined and emphasized by everyone showing that the present generation’ obligation is responsibility for future generation. What does it mean? It is regarded to the active policy directed at safeguarding the future. It is that industry, agriculture, town planning and the traffic must handle limited natural resources such as energy, raw material, land and waste with care so that future generation will also be able to enjoy sustainable richness here of flora and fauna, fertile soil and adequate water supplies. To achieve this goal, state intervention and the government policy as regulator is a must. Significant and substantive actions need to carry out order to preserve and conserve the rich natural resources. In addition, to save and secure environment, the government and all of us, State Polytechnic of Jakarta community need to create and add some more city forest, small or petits botanical garden, local conservation park and well designed campus planning. The government is supposed to do something urgent to save the earth. One real action is by managing the natural conservation like : National Park Bukit Barisan, Gunung Leuser, Ujung Kulon, Tanjung Puting, Gunung Gede Pangrango and many more.
Nature conservation is not only to preserve biological diversity, but also to provide its sustainable use. One of the major tasks of us in order to support and care for nature conservation is by protecting existing natural areas and minimizing the impact of pollution and decreasing the abuse of exploitation and exploration. Creating and determining ocean park and national park more than the existing ones is a means of securing biodiversity and keeping away exploiting, loosing many species, plants and
bird-life. This condition has altered the delicate balance of our environment and has drastically reduced the quality of our life and earth. Environment protection covers nature conservation and climate protection. Reforestation also keeps the soil quality. Reforestation will be beneficial. Keep the fertile soil for a plant to grow, and automatically bring the impact to agribusiness sector, farming, and fertilizer industry.The old foliage fallen and buried deep under the earth changed in to the fossil, the fossil will
be the extract source of energy. We use fossil fuel for generating energy. This fossil fuel is depleting fast because of two reasons, first is limited supply, secondly it is nonrenewable. University of Indonesia (UI) has supported the nature protection by not only preserving the forest and the small lakes surrounding but also reducing the air pollution. The reforestation is continuously carried out and the small lake preservation has also been done. When you see the new tract on the side of the main street in UI
campus, that is on the bike tract, which intends to motivate the UI community to ride bikes instead of driving cars or riding motorcycles and this intended to reduce air pollution. The green natural environment, giving a lot of contribution to protect biodiversity animals and insects, such as butterflies, ants, bats and birds. It keeps the balance of ecosystem, the atmosphere, the earth or planet where we stay, play and live together and forever. We wish the green environment will always remain.
